Microblading

What is Epibrow microblading?

Epibrow is the latest, revolutionary, freehand, feather-styling technique brought to you by renowned brow artist Louise Bannigan. An Epibrow treatment gives a natural brow look and is unlike any other semi-permanent makeup technique. Epibrow is a semi-permanent procedure that can last between 12-18 months and, unlike other techniques, is not reliant upon natural hair being present. This makes the Epibrow treatment perfect for those suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania, or any other condition that causes hair loss.
Epibrow gives the effect of ultra-fine, delicate hair strokes that blend flawlessly with your natural brow. Using the natural ‘landscape’ of your brow – be that too thin, too plucked, or too patchy – Epibrow allows you to restore the eyebrow shape. And, if your brows are gone completely, Epibrow will re-create an entirely new brow.
Using a specially designed micro-blade, natural 3D hair strokes are placed under the epidermis (top layer of skin) for the ultimate tailored brow. The pigments used in the Epibrow treatment have been specially formulated to match the original eyebrow in order to achieve a natural look. This cutting edge treatment is ideal for enhancing and defining brows and you are in complete control of how you  wish your bespoke brows to look.

Is Epibrow a form of Semi Permanent Make Up (SPMU)?

Yes it is. Epibrow uses a manual technique for implanting pigment into the top layer of the skin.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

We recommend at least 1 – 2 top up sessions after your initial microblading treatment to ensure that your brows are perfected and will remain so for as long as possible.

How long will my brows last?

You will get approximately 12-18 months out of your new brows. However, everyone is different. Some people may break down the pigment quicker than others. We will discuss this further in your consultation.

What does an Epibrow treatment involve?

We will arrange an appointment where we will carry out your patch tests and carry out an initial consultation. We can also use this time to go over any questions you may have. The actual microblading treatment will take around 90 minutes. In this time we analyse your features, skins tone etc and we will then advise the shape, colour and design best suited for you. Once the design has been decided, the procedure will take place. It is common to experience some redness on the skin after the treatment. We always send you home with lots of verbal and written after care.

Is it painful?

No.  While there is some discomfort felt, it wouldn’t be regarded as pain.  A topical anaesthetic cream can be applied to numb the area prior to treatment.

How do I decide which shape and colour I need?

You can rest assured that our Epibrow stylist has been trained to the highest level in colour mixing and shaping. We will discuss the shape and colour in great detail and will always design a bespoke brow suited to you.

Health & Safety?

We carry a full tattoo licence at Bliss Hair & Beauty from our local council (you can find us on Torbay Council’s website to show that we are in keeping with the health and safety guidelines). Our Epibrow stylist is also highly trained in infection control and blood bourne pathogens. Strict patch tests will always be carried out at least 48 hours prior to treatment. Single use needles will be used and disposed of following the strict guidelines in place.

What after care advice should I follow?

This will all be explained to you thoroughly after your treatment. However, here’s a little guideline as to what to expect straight after your treatment;
Don’t be alarmed if the area is slightly red or the colour of your brows appear dark and intense – this is quite normal. You can clean the area for the first 12 hours with cool boiled water and a lint free pad.

We are always available if you feel that you need any more advice on the healing and after care of your new brows.
